The head office of the company and the affiliated power plants in China have worked out the corresponding emergency plans and handling measures, and carries out the exercise to ensure the safe and steady power supply.
In 2009, in order to praise the contributions made by Shanghai Shidongkou No.1 Power Plant during the 600-day action to meeting Shanghai Expo, Shanghai Municipal Spiritual Civilization Construction Commission, and Shanghai Municipal Headquarters for Social Mobilization in 600-Day Action to Welcome Expo awarded the plant the “Welcome-Expo Contribution Prize---Public Management Prize”.
Support of Local Development
The power plants affiliated to Huaneng International Inc. in China are distributed in 17 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government. According the calculation of the annual national generated energy of the Chinese Power Generation Enterprise Association, the generated energy of the company in China in 2009, which contained the generated energy in the commissioning, amounted to 5.61% of the national generated energy, providing the steady power safeguard for the local economical development, and making important contributions to the local economical growth.
