Nanjing Power Plant had originally been developed, constructed, operated and joint-investment by HIPDC and Nanjing Investment Company which transferred all its rights and interests therein to the Company effective 31st December, 1998. The Nanjing Power Plant has an installed capacity of 600MW and consists of two 300MW coal-fired units.
Coal supply for the Nanjing Power Plant is obtained from several coal producers located mostly in the Shanxi and Anhui. Coal is transported by rail and ship to the wharf located at the Nanjing Power Plant. The wharf is capable of unloading 6,000 tons of coal per day. Coal consumption rates for power sold were 325gram/kWh and 323gram/kWh for the years of 1999 and 2000, respectively. Currently, electricity generated by the Jiangsu Power Plant is delivered to the China East Power Grid for sale.
