Recently, Listed Companies, a magazine jointly sponsored by People??s Daily East China Branch and Shanghai Stock Exchange, named 50 companies as the top 50 listed company in China in 2001. HPI ranked third on the chart. The number one is Sinopec, followed by Bao Steel. The ranking was done based on a comprehensive review of 1,173 listed companies?? operating results, including business revenue, net income, total assets, market cap, etc. Such top 50 ranking has been done for over 4 years since 1999. Compare the results of each year, it is evident that listed companies in China have been experiencing a period where only the strong and fit survive.
