total land area of 358 hectares, it is located in Linji, Yuyang, Hunan Province, 14 kilometers from the city center. It faces the Yangtze River to the north,
Jiang-guang Railway to the south. The first phase of Huaneng Yuyang Power Plant comprises 2x362.5MW coal-fired units imported from Britain. Construction
commenced in August 1988 and the two units respectively came on stream in September and December of 1991. The preparation for the second phase expansion of
Huaneng Yuyang Power Plant started in 1992 and resumed in 2003. It involves the installation of 2x300MW domestic coal-fired generating units and the associated flue gas desulphurization system. Completion is scheduled for 2006.
